Japanese Stick-insect
Phraortes elongatus

Adult Japanese stick-insects inhabit wooded areas and garden vegetation where suitable leafy food plants grow. They browse on foliage, chiefly at night, while remaining nearly motionless and twig-like during the day. Their long, narrow bodies provide excellent camouflage among branches. Females can reproduce without mating in some populations.
