Small rice grasshopper
Oxya chinensis
Adults inhabit rice paddies, marshy grasslands, and cultivated fields with tall grasses. They graze on leaves and stems, sometimes becoming agricultural pests where they are numerous. Strong hind legs provide rapid escape jumps, and the fully developed wings allow adults to travel between feeding sites.
