African Dwarf Crocodile
Osteolaemus tetraspis
African dwarf crocodiles inhabit slow forest rivers, swampy pools, and flooded wetlands across West and Central Africa. Mostly active at night, they ambush fish, crustaceans, amphibians, and small vertebrates from the water's edge. Despite being the smallest living crocodile species, adults are heavily armored and possess a powerful crushing bite.
