Kimberley Rock Monitor
Varanus glauerti
The Kimberley rock monitor lives on rugged sandstone escarpments, boulder fields, and rocky woodland in northern Australia. An agile climber, it searches crevices and ledges for insects, spiders, small vertebrates, and eggs. Its unusually long limbs and slender body help it move swiftly over near-vertical rock faces.
