Blue Acara
Andinoacara pulcher

Adult Blue Acaras live in slow-moving rivers, ponds, and seasonally flooded waters with submerged roots and vegetation. They forage near the bottom for insects, small crustaceans, worms, and plant material, using their jaws to pick through debris. Adults defend breeding areas and may excavate a shallow depression in the substrate for spawning. Their blue-green facial and body markings become especially conspicuous as they mature.
