West Indian Drywood Termite
Cryptotermes brevis

The adult West Indian drywood termite occupies galleries excavated in dry wood, including lumber and structural timber. It feeds on cellulose and uses its mandibles to enlarge passageways and defend itself at close range. Winged reproductive adults make brief dispersal flights before shedding their wings and entering wood. Small, hard fecal pellets pushed from galleries are a notable sign of its presence.
