Marbled Water Monitor
Varanus marmoratus

Marbled Water Monitors inhabit rivers, swamps, mangroves, and lowland forests across parts of the Philippines. They forage actively on land and in water, taking crabs, fish, eggs, carrion, and other small animals. Adults are powerful swimmers and can climb well when searching for food or escaping danger. Their long, muscular tail propels them through water and can be used defensively.
