Great Ramshorn
Planorbarius corneus

Great ramshorns inhabit still or slow-moving freshwater ponds, ditches, and marshes, often among dense aquatic vegetation. They graze algae, decaying plants, and soft plant tissues with a rasping radula. This air-breathing snail regularly rises to the surface for air and can survive in relatively low-oxygen water. Its flat, coiled shell is usually reddish brown and may reach several centimetres across.
