Long-tailed Shrike
Lanius schach

The Long-tailed Shrike inhabits open country with thorny shrubs, hedges, fields, and scattered trees across much of Asia. It hunts large insects, lizards, frogs, and small birds from an exposed perch, dropping down quickly to seize prey. Its hooked bill is used to kill prey, and it is well known for impaling catches on thorns or barbed wire as a stored food supply.
