Marimbondo de Noite
Apoica pallens
This pale social wasp is most active after dusk in tropical forests and wooded habitats of Central and South America. Adults fly at night to hunt small insects and may also take nectar or other sugary food. A potent sting provides defense and helps subdue prey, while its nocturnal activity distinguishes it from many other paper wasps.
