Longspine Snipefish
Macroramphosus scolopax

Longspine snipefish inhabit coastal waters over sandy or muddy seabeds, often around reefs and seagrass. They hover and swim with a tilted posture while picking small crustaceans and plankton from the water. The long snout forms a narrow tube that helps draw in small prey with a quick suction strike.
