Dwarf Hawkfish
Cirrhitichthys falco

Dwarf Hawkfish inhabit coral reefs, especially areas with branching corals that provide elevated perches. They wait motionless before lunging at small crustaceans and fishes that pass nearby. Rather than constantly swimming, they frequently brace themselves on coral with their broad pectoral fins. Like other hawkfishes, they lack a swim bladder and are well adapted to perching near the reef bottom.
