Gendarme Fish
Acanthurus olivaceus

Adult Gendarme Fish inhabit clear tropical reefs, lagoons, and reef slopes in the Indo-Pacific. They spend much of the day grazing algae from rocks and coral rubble, though they may also take small invertebrates. A sharp, folding spine on each side of the tail base provides an effective defense against close attackers.
