Brown Surgeonfish
Acanthurus nigrofuscus

Adult brown surgeonfish inhabit tropical reefs, lagoons, and exposed rocky shallows across the Indo-Pacific. They spend much of the day grazing filamentous algae from rocks and coral rubble. A sharp, retractable spine on each side of the tail base provides a formidable defensive slash when threatened.
