Atlantic Cod
Gadus morhua
Atlantic cod live in cold temperate waters along continental shelves, usually close to the seabed. Adults hunt fish, crustaceans, and molluscs with a large, protrusible mouth. A small chin barbel helps them detect food in murky water and along the bottom.
