Flying Gurnard
Dactylopterus volitans
Adults live on sandy and muddy seafloors in warm Atlantic coastal waters and offshore shallows. They search the bottom for crustaceans, mollusks, and small fishes. Free fingerlike pectoral-fin rays let them walk over the substrate and probe for hidden prey.
