Shorthorn Sculpin
Myoxocephalus scorpius
Adult shorthorn sculpins live on rocky, sandy, and weedy seabeds in cold coastal waters. They are ambush predators that eat crustaceans, worms, molluscs, and small fish. A broad, spiny head and highly variable mottled coloration help them hide on the bottom and deter predators.
