Fire Goby
Nemateleotris magnifica

Adult Fire Gobies hover above coral rubble and sandy reef slopes in clear tropical seas. They feed chiefly on zooplankton carried past by the current, returning repeatedly to a nearby refuge. A raised dorsal fin and bright red-orange markings make the fish conspicuous until danger sends it darting back into cover.
