Oriente Streamside Frog
Eleutherodactylus cuneatus

This small Cuban frog lives on wet rocks, stream banks, and leaf litter in forested mountain areas of eastern Cuba. It is most active at night, moving in short hops while searching for small insects and other invertebrates. Its mottled brown coloring helps it disappear against damp soil and stones. Unlike frogs with a free-swimming tadpole stage, it develops directly into a tiny froglet from its eggs.
