Elongate Crab Spider
Tmarus elongatus
The elongate crab spider lives among grasses, herbs, and low shrubs, where its long narrow body blends with stems and twigs. It waits in ambush for small insects, then darts sideways to seize them with its front legs and fangs. Like other crab spiders, it does not build a prey-catching web. Its cryptic, stretched-out shape is especially effective camouflage in slender vegetation.
