Bronze Beetle
Chrysolina bankii
Adult Bronze Beetles live on plantain-rich coastal grasslands, dunes, and salt-marsh margins. They browse on leaves, using strong mandibles to cut patches from the foliage, and can fly to locate fresh plants. Their metallic bronze wing cases are hardened elytra that protect the folded flight wings beneath.
