Stag Beetle
Cyclommatus metallifer
Adult stag beetles inhabit tropical forests, where they visit tree sap flows and ripe fruit for sugary food. Males use their long, antler-like mandibles to wrestle rivals from feeding sites and attract mates. Despite their formidable jaws, adults can fly between trees in search of sap.
