Common Tortoise Beetle
Aspidimorpha miliaris

Adult common tortoise beetles inhabit tropical vegetation where their bindweed and morning-glory host plants grow. They feed by chewing foliage and can fly between suitable patches of plants. Their broad, rounded wing covers extend over the legs and give the beetle its characteristic tortoise-shell appearance.
