Buff-necked Ibis
Theristicus caudatus

The Buff-necked Ibis inhabits wetlands, flooded fields, savannas, and open woodland across much of Central and South America. It walks steadily through shallow water or grass, probing soil and mud for insects, crustaceans, frogs, and small reptiles. Its long curved bill is especially useful for reaching hidden prey, while broad wings carry it between feeding sites and roosts.
