Rice Ear Bug
Leptocorisa oratoria

Adult rice ear bugs inhabit rice paddies, grasslands, and fields where flowering grasses are abundant. They feed by piercing ripening rice grains and sucking out their contents, which can leave damaged or empty kernels. Their narrow green bodies and long legs make them difficult to spot among stalks. Adults have fully developed wings and readily fly between host plants.
