Celebes Sulawesi Snail
Miratesta celebensis
The Celebes Sulawesi Snail is a terrestrial snail native to Sulawesi, Indonesia, where it lives among humid forest litter and low vegetation. It is most active in damp conditions, moving slowly over surfaces on a trail of mucus. Like other land snails, it uses its radula to rasp at soft plant material, fungi, algae, and decaying organic matter. Its coiled shell offers important protection when it withdraws from danger or dry weather.
