Common Picture Wing
Rhyothemis variegata
Adults hunt over sunny ponds, marshes, rice fields, and other still or slow waters. They catch mosquitoes, flies, and other small insects while flying, using sharp vision and quick aerial turns. The broad wings carry distinctive dark patches that give this dragonfly its picture-winged appearance.
