Common Castor Caterpillar
Ariadne merione (caterpillar)
Common Castor caterpillars live on castor plants and related vegetation in open scrub, gardens, and forest edges. They spend much of the day chewing leaves, often resting along stems between feeding bouts. The larvae bear rows of branched spines that make them difficult for many predators to handle.
