Common Snout Caterpillar
Asota caricae (caterpillar)
This caterpillar lives on fig trees in tropical woodland, orchards, and gardens across South and Southeast Asia. It feeds by chewing the leaves of Ficus species, sometimes stripping substantial foliage from a small branch. Its bold bands and bristly body may help discourage predators while it rests among the leaves.
