Two-lined Leather Beetle
Paratropes bilunata
Adults roam dry ground, leaf litter, and the bases of shrubs, often becoming active in cooler evening conditions. They feed largely on dead plant matter and other decaying organic material. The thick, leather-like wing covers protect the beetle, and two pale longitudinal lines give it its common name.
