Red Worm Lizard
Amphisbaena alba

The red worm lizard spends most of its life tunnelling through soil in South American forests, grasslands, and disturbed land. It hunts ants, termites, beetles, and other small invertebrates encountered underground. Its tough, ringed skin and reinforced skull help it force a path through compact soil, and its tail closely resembles its blunt head.
