Bonnet Macaque
Macaca radiata
Bonnet macaques inhabit tropical dry forests, scrub, farmland, and urban temples across southern India. They forage for fruit, seeds, leaves, insects, and occasionally small animals, using nimble hands to handle food. Adults are named for the cap-like swirl of hair on the head and can move rapidly on the ground or through trees.
