Trichogramma Wasp Larva
Trichogramma pretiosum (larva)
This minute larva develops entirely inside the egg of another insect, most often in vegetation where its host's eggs were laid. It feeds on the egg contents and growing host embryo using small mandibles. Hidden within the egg shell, it is protected from many external predators. A single larva can consume nearly all of the resources inside its host egg.
