Palm Leaf Skeletonizer
Homaledra sabalella
This small moth inhabits areas with sabal palms, especially where suitable larval host fronds are available. Adults rest quietly among dried foliage and take flight when disturbed, using their muted coloration to remain inconspicuous. Unlike the leaf-eating caterpillar, the adult is short-lived and chiefly focused on finding mates and laying eggs.
