Mojave Rattlesnake
Crotalus scutulatus

The Mojave rattlesnake inhabits arid deserts, grasslands, and rocky foothills of the southwestern United States and Mexico. It waits in cover near trails and burrows before ambushing rodents, lizards, and occasionally birds. Its tail rattle serves as a warning display, while its venom is among the most medically significant of North American rattlesnakes.
