Ornate Mastigure
Uromastyx ornata
The ornate mastigure inhabits hot, arid rocky deserts, where it excavates deep burrows to escape extreme heat and predators. It is chiefly herbivorous, browsing leaves, flowers, and seeds. Its broad, spiny tail is a formidable defensive weapon when it wedges itself inside a burrow.
