Clouded Rock Iguana
Cyclura nubila
Adults inhabit sun-baked rocky scrub, coastal thickets, and limestone outcrops in Cuba and surrounding islands. They spend much of the day basking, climbing over rocks, and feeding mainly on leaves, flowers, and fruit. Adults defend themselves with powerful bites and sweeping tail strikes when cornered. Their stout bodies and strong jaws allow them to process tough plant material.
