Flea-frog
Brachycephalus didactylus
This minute frog lives in damp leaf litter on the forest floor of Brazil’s Atlantic Forest, especially in lowland rainforest. It moves through fallen leaves and moss while hunting tiny mites, springtails, and other small invertebrates. Males make soft, insect-like calls during the day, and the species is among the smallest known terrestrial vertebrates.
