Fiji Crested Iguana
Brachylophus vitiensis
The adult Fiji crested iguana inhabits dry forest, coastal woodland, and shrub-covered islands in Fiji. It spends much of its time climbing and basking in trees, feeding mainly on leaves, flowers, and fruit. When threatened, it can freeze against foliage, hiss, bite, and lash its tail. Males develop a prominent dorsal crest and may become brightly colored during displays.
