Livingstone's Fruit Bat
Pteropus livingstonii

Livingstone's Fruit Bats roost high in the remaining moist forests of Anjouan and Mohéli in the Comoros. At night, they fly between trees to feed chiefly on fruit, nectar, and leaves, helping disperse seeds as they travel. This endangered species is among the largest fruit bats in the western Indian Ocean and has a distinctive dark coat with pale facial markings.
