Western Green Mamba
Dendroaspis viridis

The western green mamba inhabits forest canopies, dense thickets, and wooded clearings across parts of West Africa. An alert, highly agile snake, it hunts lizards, birds, rodents, and other small animals in vegetation. When threatened, it may raise the front of its body, hiss, and deliver rapid venomous bites; despite its name, it is chiefly arboreal rather than a ground-dwelling snake.
