Arabian Scorpion
Androctonus australis

The Arabian scorpion inhabits hot, arid deserts and semi-desert scrub across North Africa and the Middle East, sheltering beneath stones or in shallow burrows by day. It emerges mostly at night to ambush insects, spiders, and other small animals, sensing vibrations through the ground. Its stout tail delivers potent venom, making it one of the medically important scorpions in its range. Under ultraviolet light, its exoskeleton fluoresces a blue-green color.
