Australian Sand Crab
Ovalipes australiensis

Australian sand crabs inhabit sandy surf zones and shallow coastal waters around southern Australia. They rapidly bury themselves in wet sand, emerging to hunt small crustaceans, molluscs, and carrion. Their flattened paddle-like rear legs let them swim swiftly through breaking waves.
