Bluespotted Flathead
Platycephalus caeruleopunctatus

The adult bluespotted flathead inhabits sandy and muddy coastal bottoms, often near estuaries and seagrass. It lies motionless in camouflage before lunging at small fish, prawns, and other crustaceans. Its broad, flattened head and upward-facing eyes let it watch for prey while remaining almost buried in the substrate.
