Marsh Periwinkle
Littoraria irrorata

Adult marsh periwinkles live among smooth cordgrass in salt marshes along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts. They climb grass stems with the tide and graze on algae, fungi, and plant detritus. During high water, they can form dense clusters high on vegetation to avoid aquatic predators.
