Field Amber Snail
Succinea campestris

Adult field amber snails inhabit moist meadows, marsh edges, streamside plants, and damp woodland litter. They feed by rasping algae, fungi, decaying vegetation, and tender living plant tissue with a radula. Despite their name, amber snails often spend time climbing vegetation and can seal themselves within the shell during dry conditions.
