Sharp Hornsnail
Pleurocera acuta
Adult sharp hornsnails inhabit streams and rivers with firm surfaces for grazing. They slowly scrape algae, diatoms, and decaying organic film from stones and logs. Its sharply pointed, elongated shell is a notable defense, allowing it to withdraw when threatened.
