Milk snails inhabit dry Mediterranean-style scrub, gardens, and rocky ground, becoming active when moisture is available. They feed mostly on plant material, algae, fungi, and decaying organic matter. During hot, dry weather, they may seal themselves to a surface and aestivate for long periods.
