Crested Goshawk
Lophospiza trivirgata
The crested goshawk inhabits tropical and subtropical forests, forest edges, and wooded plantations across Southeast Asia. It hunts from concealed perches, seizing birds, lizards, small mammals, and large insects with its talons. Adults fly swiftly through dense cover and may launch short surprise attacks on prey. Its distinctive raised crest can make the head appear sharply peaked.
