Double-collared Seedeater
Sporophila caerulescens

The Double-collared Seedeater inhabits open grasslands, field margins, scrub, and gardens across much of South America. It forages mainly for grass seeds, using its short conical bill to husk them. Males often sing from exposed perches, and their contrasting dark-and-pale collar markings are especially noticeable during the breeding season.
